Very exciting experience, making us want to come back to ActiveUkraine! Extremely impressed by the logistics of ActiveUkraine, everything ran smoothly, on time, like a clock. Generally very pleasant guides and people we met, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and eager to please.

I am extremely satisfied with the custom trip organized by Active Ukraine. From initial contact to final departure, communication and on-the-ground support was excellent. It could not have been simple to find the family of my immigrant grandparents, but Active Ukraine pulled it off with style. Also, steering us through caves and Carpathian skiing was done with friendly, competent good cheer. Without hesitation, I recommend Active Ukraine to anyone making plans to travel in the country, for whatever purpose.

Active Ukraine was a responsible group that organized a very enjoyable trip for us to Bukovel to ski in December. Accommodation was nice and clean and well located, and the vehicles for transport were in excellent condition. The guide was enthusiastic but could have had better communication skills. Downsides were that it seemed overpriced for what it offered, and the vehicle for transport was far too big for two people.

Lovely 5 hour bike trip that was a mixture of sightseeing and interesting local stories and spots. Extraordinary way of learning about Kiev. Definite recommendation. Ask for Nick.

Thank you again for the excellent guidance during our bike trip. We are grateful for the visit of this unique country. The area we have discovered is impressive, landscape, as well as people and the itinerary, was excellent, though the gravel on the roads stretched us to the limit so that we were lucky anytime we came upon a paved road. We warmly recommend the itinerary, using the roadmaps we have been provided instead of online maps.

Overall the trip was excellent. From beginning to end we enjoyed the whole thing. First, we had some great conversation and history from our guide, Artem. He took us to some perfect places that were exactly what we wanted. We saw perfect sites and go out into the country and into some small villages which were exactly what we wanted for a day trip. It was perfect.

We (7 Estonians) would like to thank you for the Carpathian trip. We had the best vacation, everything was just perfect - accommodation, transfers, guide. Special thanks for the guide Vitali. He is a very kind and helpful person, natural born guide, who loves this job. He took very good care of us and made much more than we expected. This tour is for anyone looking to meet the locals and sample real Lviv! You get a chance to visit local Grandma Katerina's cozy home where she will teach you how to make Ukrainian national dishes - Vareniki and borsch. Katerina is such a wonderful character, so incredibly warm, and she is supported by an amazing guide, Ivanna who is very charming and speaks perfect English. After cooking, you are invited to enjoy a feast at the table with the hosts. The atmosphere is so warm and the food so delicious! Make sure you go hungry as Katerina will be sure to keep topping up your plate with tasty delights. This is a really special experience, where you can learn about local life and traditions, and exchange heart-warming moments with 2 wonderful people. It is definitely a tour you will never forget. Very highly recommended!

I have lived in Australia all my life and never thought about visiting the Ukraine although my parents were born there and lived there until the outbreak of WWII. In 2014 my daughter contacted ActiveUkraine and arranged a visit. I loved the tour so much I returned in 2016 with my wife and in 2017 with my sister. It was so moving discovering where my parents lived and meeting our relatives for the first time.

This was a very meaningful trip to the home of grandparents. Though I have not been able to locate family connections, I did learn about possible ways to keep exploring. I have a better understanding of the difficult history Ukraine has endured in the last century, and how rebuilding will take money and time. It was like dropping back in time. I appreciate that some people were willing to share painful family history with me. The experience was very special and much of that had to with the welcoming attitude, open heartedness, and generosity of the people I came in contact with. I was able to experience both urban and rural life.
