Still deciding on what is the most favourable time for a trip to Ukraine? LVIV

Lviv is a cultural center of Ukraine. It can be visited no matter the season. Eclectic architecture of the city combines gothic renaissance and baroque elements that give you vibes of old times. The most significant Lviv’s restaurants are called “knaipy”. KYIV

THE CARPATHIANS

AUTUMN

The warm weather may last till the middle of September. An Indian summer period in Ukraine is called Babine lito. Usually, autumn temperatures decrease rapidly. The first snow may fall in the middle of October.  But it concerns only a mountain area. Rest of the country rather reminds a classic wallpaper with multicoloured trees and streets sprinkled with fallen leaves.

Good news for lovers of active tourism all over the world – the first half of autumn is suitable for hiking and rafting too. But it obviously requires a much warmer close.

WINTER

For those who are curious – you will be able to handle the very cold weather, but with proper outerwear as a down jacket and a pair of waterproof winter boots. Sometimes Ukrainian winter is freezing and accompanied by snowfalls. During the coldest periods the temperature drops to -30 °C (-22 °F). But it is rather a rare occurrence. For those who got used to the milder climate, our winters may seem extremely cold. Despite that, you may find this time of year truly magnificent. Besides winters in our country are getting more gentle with every year. Here are some average temperatures:

SKIING

December – March are months of skiing activity. Ukrainian spring is hard to forecast. But at the end of April, the temperatures generally start to become permanently pleasant.

LANDSCAPE GARDEN OLEKSANDRIA

Landscape Garden Oleksandria is located in Bila Tserkva (Kyiv region). It is one of the largest parks in Eastern Europe and the second largest in Ukraine. The park combines plants, sculptures, architectural structures, the water surface of the Ros River and ponds.

SOFIYIVSKY PARK

Sofiyivsky Park is a botanical garden located in the northern part of the City of Uman. The park is a popular recreational spot and has more than 2,000 types of local and exotic trees and bushes. Enchanting blooming lilacs can be seen in May.
