Day 1- Welcome to Carpathians

From Ivano-Frankivsk transfer to the village of Kvasy – your hike starting point at the foot of Chornogora mountain ridge, which will host you for the following 4 days. At your first trekking day you will conquer Mt. Petros (2020 m) and settle for a night at a wooden shelter before heading to the Mt.Goverla’s top (2061m).

Distance: 16km – 7-8 hours walk

Day 2- Trekking Chornogora Mountain Range

After delicious breakfast you will take up the biggest challenge of the trip – conquer the roof of Ukraine, to the maximum altitude of Mt. Goverla (2061m) and proceed trekking until you reach the highland lake Nesamovyte.

Distance: 9km – 6 hours walk

Day 3- Trekking Chornogora Mountain Range

You will continue the hike conquering or traversing Mt.Rebra (2001m) and Mt.Brebenescul (2038m) on your way to Lake Brebenescul (eng. God’s Foot). This day you’ll stay overnight at a mountain meadow of Mt. Smotrych where you might meet (from May till September) local shepherds and witness the old tradition of sheep milk cheese production in the highlands.

Distance: 16 km – 6 hours walk

Day 4- Leaving the Carpathians

The last in the range but not the least picturesque is Mt.Pip Ivan (2022m). Pull yourself together for this last day elevation and the mountain will reveal you its secret – the remains of an abandoned astronomic observatory building. Heading for your trek finishing point you will admire the Lake Maricheika picturesque banks, enjoy the walk through conifer forest and explore Vesniarka mountain meadow.

Finish your hike in the village of Shybene. Transfer to Ivano-Frankivsk.
