Day 1- Welcome to Kyiv 

Pick-up and Welcome. Meeting with your Active Ukraine guide. Hotel check-in.

Take a guided tour along city’s major landmarks and attractions. Visit the UNESCO-listed St. Sophia Cathedral with its beautiful frescoes; take a walk at St. Andrew’s Descent – street of writers and artists; learn more about the environmental challenges at National Chernobyl Museum, stroll along the main street Khreshchatyk, and sip delicious tea at the famous Independence Square.

In the evening relax in the greenery of Kyiv Mariyinsky Park and enjoy the stunning views of majestic Dnieper River.

Day 2- Nature Escape

Get out of Kiev and visit Mizhrichynsky National Park – home to largest conservation territory in the Northern Ukraine. Join our specialist guides who will introduce you to the environmental challenges of the region, and conservation efforts by the local community.

If you are lucky, you might see some wildlife and listen to the songs of rare birds! Bring your camera along and document this wonderful trip into the nature. The Park is home to over 30 rare species of animals, and has some of the last true marshes in Ukraine and all Eastern Europe.

Transfer to Ivano-Frankivsk in a sleeper train.

Day 3 – Ukrainian Carpathians

Arrive to Ivano-Frankivsk and transfer to the village of Kosiv.  

Take a hike to Sokilsky mountain range. On your way back visit the village of Yavoriv. The village is famous for its traditions of making hand-woven woolen blankets. Visit one of the local artisans and enjoy their beautiful creations.

Day 4 – Introduction to Hutsul culture

After breakfast transfer to the village of Kryvopillya. Kryvopillya village is the best place to explore the Kostrych highland meadow and take a panorama view of Chornohora, the highest mountain range in Western Ukraine.

On your way you will make the first stop in the village of Yavoriv which is famous for its traditions of making hand-woven woolen blankets. Visit one of the local artisans and enjoy their beautiful creations. Then you will take a short hike to the outskirts of the village to the magnificent rocks and return for a home-made lunch with a local family.

The second stop on your way you will have in Verkhovyna town visiting a private museum of Hutsul culture.  

Enjoy tasty dinner at the end of the day.

Day 5 – Hike to the shepherds

In the morning you will start a day hike to the Kostrych highland meadow where you’ll have a chance to meet shepherds with their herds and dog guards. For many years, every summer Hutsul shepherds take herds of cows and sheep from all surrounding villages and spend four months in the mountain valleys, looking after the animals and preparing delicious cheese ‘brynza’ and ‘boodz’. You’ll have the chance to witness this old tradition, learn about the shepherds’ life and try their famous cheese.

Day 6- Coffee and Jazz

In the morning transfer to Ivano-Frankivsk and take a train to Lviv.

Explore Lviv – Ukraine’s most charming and romantic city. Walk along the hidden valleys of its cobbled streets: full of coffee shops, street musicians, and art galleries. Wander around Rynok Square – UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit city’s magnificent and world-class Opera Theater (optional)

Relax in the greenery of Stryiskyi park, stroll around or take a short cycling tour in the park.

Day 7 –  Hiking in parks

Modern city Lviv can boast not only of the beautiful architecture and cosy places to drink coffee at but also it has many parks with wonderful views.

Visit the largest Lviv park – Znesinnja regional landscape park which was created to preserve nature in the area. It has many interesting sights to offer, both natural and architectural. Enjoy a little picnic in the midst of green trees.

Take a train to Odesa.

Day 8 – Odesa, the pearl at the sea

Enjoy your morning breakfast in Odessa, the Pearl of the Black Sea. The city is Ukraine’s fourth largest and a major sea port. Founded in 18th century, it has an enchanting mix of Italian, French and Russian architecture. Odessa is a vibrant city, energetic and fun, with plenty of activities for all.

After checking in to your hotel, you will enjoy 3 hour guided-tour around the main sightseeing landmarks of Odessa. After the marvels of the city, have delicious lunch at one of its beach-side restaurants.

Take a walk along “the route of health”.  The road runs along the shore of the Black Sea. The nature around is striking in its beauty. Planted trees provide welcome shade. A sea breeze brings the necessary refreshment. The route is about 6 km long.

Day 9- Dniester Delta National Park

Spend your day at the Dniester Delta National Park.

Northern part of Dniester Liman is a wetland of international importance. The area is home to many endangered species, both plant and animal, which are included into the Red Data Books of Ukraine and Moldova, as well as the Red List of Threatened Species maintained by the World Conservation Union (IUCN). The bird community, nesting in the wetlands, is especially valuable and includes the glossy ibis (Plegadis falcinellus), its most endangered species.

You will have a unique chance to observe and experience the wildlife of Dniester Delta National Park, together with our nature experts at Glossy Ibis campsite. With enormous passion for nature conservation, and intensive knowledge of the local area, the guides will take you to the farthest places in Dniester Delta (Beloe Lake, Turunchuk, Strelka). To top that, enjoy a lovely fresh fish home-made lunch!

Transfer to Odessa. Take a train to Kiev
