  • STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO YOUR TRIP

Day 1- The One with All the Crafts

Arrive to the town of Kolomyia. Then travel to the village of Kosmach.

Spend your day with a local family, learning more about Hutsul cultural heritage and traditional way of life: go to the forest to pick up the berries and medicinal herbs, feed the chicken or observe how locals tend in their fields and to their animals, join the family in making banosh - traditional Hutsul dish cooked over the fire, and simply enjoy the simple lifestyle of local rural people.

Visit one of the artisan families in Kosmach and learn from them how traditional crafts are passed on from generation to generation

Overnight in family-owned guesthouse

Day 2- Hiking Carpathian Pyramid

Today you will hike one of the least explored part of Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains – Gorgany. Pay attention to the unique flora and fauna and enjoy the stunning beauty of Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains.

Hike the pyramid-looking Khomyak Mountain (1542 m). Taste delicious cheese brynza from the shepherds in the highland nearby, and learn more about their simple daily life away from civilization.

Day 3- Hiking Gorgany Mountain Range

After delicious breakfast you can have a chance to hike up along the mountain range, passing the mountains Syniyak (1665 m) and Malyi Gorgan (1592 m) until you reach the highland Bladzhyv.

Day 4- Uphill challenge

Today you will continue your hike and take up the biggest challenge of the trip – tough altitude change on your route to Mt. Dovbushanka (1755 m).

Finish your hike in the village of Bystrycia. Take the long-awaited sauna and relax in the comfortable rural guesthouse.

Overnight in family-owned guesthouse

Day 5- Leaving Carpathian Mountains

Relax in the village after the tough hiking experience. Take short walks into the woods, pick up berries, or simply stay in!

Transfer to Ivano-Frankivsk.

Kolomyia can be easily reached by train from Kyiv or Lviv. For short distances you will travel with a comfortable air-conditioned car or minivan.
